Gilmore Station is an elevated rapid transit station on the Millennium Line of Metro Vancouver’s SkyTrain network. Opened on August 31, 2002, it is located at Gilmore Avenue and Dawson Street (near Lougheed Highway) in Burnaby. It sits at the western edge of the Brentwood neighbourhood, offering quick trips of under 20 minutes to downtown Vancouver. It was designed by Busby + Associates, featuring a transparent entry plaza, side platforms, and an exposed wood-and-glass canopy with a warm timber ceiling. It’s fully integrated with escalators, stairs, and elevators for accessibility.
The area is shifting rapidly from a low-density light industrial zone into a high-density urban hub. The station is directly connected to the massive, master-planned Gilmore Place development by the Onni Group, which features high-rise residential towers (including some of the tallest in the province), office spaces, and ground-level retail anchored by major conveniences like T&T Supermarket. It is also within walking distance of The Amazing Brentwood shopping and entertainment district.
